This post was originally posted on May 5, 2025. In the May 3, 2025 election, Dripping Springs ISD voters approved a $402.3 million school bond with overwhelming support—more than 70% voted in favor of both Propositions A and B

What's Included in the Bond

Proposition A ($399.7M) focuses on:

  • Construction of High School #2, with capacity for 2,500 students, located off Darden Hill Road

  • Renovations and capital improvements at Dripping Springs High School and Rooster Springs Elementary

  • District-wide facility updates including seat belts on buses, expanded bus fleet, portables, and other maintenance needs

Proposition B ($2.6M) allocates funds toward:

  • Technology device refreshes for students, teachers, and staff.

  • Installation of interactive panels in classrooms

Why It Matters

Addressing Overcrowding

Dripping Springs High School is currently beyond capacity—housing more than 2,500 students, and projected to exceed 3,000 students by 2027–28 if no new facilities are added

Enhancing Learning Environments

Updates across campuses aim to:

  • Improve safety measures (like seat belts),

  • Upgrade aging systems and infrastructure,

  • Provide modern learning tools through technology enhancements.

Community Investment

In a statement, Superintendent Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz expressed deep appreciation:

“We are grateful ... this bond will help DSISD continue to deliver the exceptional education and student experiences for which our district has long been known.”
