Breaking Ground: What the $402.3M DSISD Bond Means for Our Schools
This post was originally posted on May 5, 2025. In the May 3, 2025 election, Dripping Springs ISD voters approved a $402.3 million school bond with overwhelming support—more than 70% voted in favor of both Propositions A and B
What's Included in the Bond
Proposition A ($399.7M) focuses on:
Construction of High School #2, with capacity for 2,500 students, located off Darden Hill Road
Renovations and capital improvements at Dripping Springs High School and Rooster Springs Elementary
District-wide facility updates including seat belts on buses, expanded bus fleet, portables, and other maintenance needs
Proposition B ($2.6M) allocates funds toward:
Technology device refreshes for students, teachers, and staff.
Installation of interactive panels in classrooms
Why It Matters
Addressing Overcrowding
Dripping Springs High School is currently beyond capacity—housing more than 2,500 students, and projected to exceed 3,000 students by 2027–28 if no new facilities are added
Enhancing Learning Environments
Updates across campuses aim to:
Improve safety measures (like seat belts),
Upgrade aging systems and infrastructure,
Provide modern learning tools through technology enhancements.
Community Investment
In a statement, Superintendent Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz expressed deep appreciation:
“We are grateful ... this bond will help DSISD continue to deliver the exceptional education and student experiences for which our district has long been known.”
